What is Reading Justice?

Reading justice is the ultimate equalizer in modern day society.

Reading is the foundation upon which our world is built; our ideas and inventions are shared, imagined, and brought to life through the printed word. Literacy leads to many positive effects, and is always a transformative force for good. Why, then, are some left behind by our educational systems?

They are being overlooked because of the unique circumstances presented by their learning differences; those differences are often seen as too costly or time-consuming to be helped. However, I believe that the more costly path is for them not to be helped. Think of all the amazing minds wasted because they were too “different”. All the people who were told they could never do something, be someone, because of their learning differences. Where’s the justice in that?

That’s why reading justice needs to become something we talk about more. We can’t afford to wait any longer because every second we waste today hurts our future.

Commit to reading justice and watch how the world will flourish if all of us have the opportunity to receive a quality education.
