Interview: Alexandra Karol

Alexandra Karol recently graduated from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work as an LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker). Alexandra has experience working within NYC high schools for children with IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) and learning differences.

Additionally, Alexandra herself was diagnosed with Dyslexia at the age of six, and thereafter attended Carroll School in Lincoln, MA, a school specializing in education for children with language based learning disabilities such as Dyslexia. For undergraduate, Alexandra attended American University in Washington D.C., where she also had a great experience with accommodations.

In this interview, she discusses success in higher education as somebody with a learning difference, and how to advocate for yourself within the public education system.
